Wellness Exams / Physicals

Medicare Wellness

Employment Physicals

Used to certify your fitness in fulfilling professional duties as required by your potential or current employer. Standard physical measures - heart rate, blood pressure, heart/lungs are included, as well as any additionally requested measures such as: blood and/or urine tests, vision, and more.

School Physicals

Required by schools or community institutions to ensure that your child can safely participate in school and sports related activities. We record and measure your child’s vital information (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.), examine for any apparent abnormalities or concerns of the body (ears, nose, throat, skin, etc.), evaluate the body’s functions and development (heart, lungs, bowels, muscle mobility, etc.), and assess hearing and vision.

Well-Woman Exams

Annual or periodic gynecological exam that is performed to observe and assess a woman’s current state of sexual and reproductive health. It is also done as a preventative measure to screen for potential health problems, and to ensure proactive and early treatment as necessary. During a well woman exam, you can expect to receive a standard breast exam, a Pap smear to test the cervical cells for anomalous or potentially cancerous cells, and a pelvic exam that involves the visual and manual examination of the pelvic organs (uterus, ovaries, bladder, cervix.) We strongly encourage all patients to freely discuss any concerns during their well woman visit, such as birth control and family planning, the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs,) cancer risk, menopause, and more. It is our mission to empower our patients in protecting their sexual and reproductive health through knowledge, understanding, and compassion.

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

At Family Medicine Center, we offer osteopathic manipulative treatment, OMT. OMT promotes whole-person care through hands-on diagnosis and treatment. In a time of “quick fixes,” OMT offers something deeper; long-term, system-wide change built on the principle of unity throughout the body. For example, a sacral release doesn’t just adjust the pelvis, it can influence the spine, cranial rhythm, even digestion.

OMT isn’t about cracking and “popping.” It’s about restoring balance and letting the body reorganize itself. A physician’s hands might adjust a joint - but the patient’s body does the healing.
