School/Work/Sports Physicals

School and sports physicals are medical exams that are required by many educational or community institutions to ensure that your child can safely participate in school and sports related activities. In administering these physical exams, we record and measure your child’s vital information (height, weight, blood pressure, etc), scan for any apparent abnormalities or concerns on the body (ears, nose, throat, skin, etc), evaluate the body’s functions and development (heart, lungs, bowels, muscle mobility, etc), and assess your child’s vision and hearing.

We also provide pre-employment/work physicals to certify your fitness in fulfilling your professional duties as required by your potential or current employer. A pre employment or work physical includes the usual procedures performed during a standard physical (recording and checking of vitals such as heart rate and blood pressure, checking the heart and lungs, visual and manual assessment of the body for signs of disease or abnormalities, etc) and may involve additional tests as specified by the employer, such as blood and urine tests, vision tests, and more.

Well Woman Exams

A well woman exam is an annual or periodic gynecological exam that is performed to observe and assess a woman’s current state of sexual and reproductive health. It is also done as a preventive measure to screen for potential health problems, and to ensure proactive and early treatment as necessary. During a well woman exam, you can expect to receive a standard breast exam (a manual and visual exam of the breasts to detect lumps and other abnormalities), a Pap smear to test the cervical cells for anomalous or potentially cancerous cells, and a pelvic exam that involves the visual and manual examination of the pelvic organs (uterus, ovaries, cervix, bladder). We strongly encourage all patients to freely discuss any concerns during their well woman visit, such as birth control and family planning, the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), cancer risk, menopause, and more. It is our mission to empower our patients in protecting their sexual and reproductive health through knowledge, understanding, and compassion.
